The Hampton Estate boutique vineyard is located on a north facing slope on the picturesque 30 acre property. Red gravel loam soils and abundant sunshine enable the growth of quality fruit. Originally all planted to Shiraz in 2001, 30% of the vineyard has recently been grafted over to the white variety Viognier.
The 2012 vintage (still maturing in oak) was the first vintage to utilise Viognier fruit in a shiraz/viognier blend. The medium term plan is to produce a Viognier white wine as well the shiraz/viognier blend.
